But, in contemporary history, prior to World War II, the topic of human rights was never placed on the agenda of international organizations and the concept of Human Rights entered the political lexicon of the West in the wake of barbaric crimes of the German Nazi dictator, Adolf Hitler, and the Soviet ruler, Joseph Stalin, and the atomic bombardment of the two Japanese cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. In these crimes, over 120 million people lost their lives. These developments led to publication of human rights documents and treaties as of the year 1945.
The milestone in support for human rights in contemporary history dates back to establishment of United Nations and ratification of Declaration of Human Rights in December 1948. Based on this declaration, all human beings are born free and are equal in dignity and rights. All human beings maintain wisdom and conscience and should treat each other with a fraternal spirit. Every individual has the right to personal life, freedom, and security and no one should be kept as a slave.
According to clause one of article two of international civil and political rights international treaty, any member state to this treaty is committed to maintain the rights of all individuals in its territory.
Thereafter, the topic of human rights and their observance by governments turned into one of the most important topics, considered by governments and international organizations within the world order. But, ambiguity in definition and misuse of this concept led to numerous challenges in promotion of these rights across the world.
Meanwhile, Western regimes, led by the US, have every now and then interfered in the internal affairs of other countries under the pretext of supporting human rights and have staged propaganda campaigns against many countries.
The study of human rights and their background in these Western regimes shows that especially in the US the necessary standards on human rights have not been observed and the US has played an effective role in violation of human rights such that many human rights organizations and world bodies have announced their deep concerns over the breach of human rights in the US.

I like the declaration that all human beings are born free and are equal in dignity and rights. But we are not born with discipline and knowledge about how important life it was. If we have that knowledge then nobody should ever suffer from unequal treatment in life. However we must face the fact there are always an opportunity to spread human rights and how can it affect the lives of each other.
